Good for your body, good for the earth.
I spent the early years of my childhood on a remote homestead, situated on 40 acres of wilderness in eastern Washington State. My parents moved there in the late ’70s as part of the back-to-the-land movement of the time. Our two-room cabin was built by my father and his brother, and my mother grew and raised most of our food, supplemented by foraging as well as my father’s hunting. We had goats, chickens, an abundant garden, a root cellar, and a hand-pumped well in the middle of a shimmering aspen grove. My mother was committed to making everything from scratch. Some of my fondest memories are of time spent with her outdoors and in the kitchen: playing with the goats, touting around a watering can, eating fresh peas from the vine, and making cheese, applesauce, and huckleberry jam.
Today I’ve brought my experience full circle in California. Verdant skin care products are handmade in small batches in Larkin Valley. The Verdant mission is to create products that harness the healing powers of plants as simply as possible, using the purest ingredients available. With this formula, we believe it’s viable to have high-quality, accessible, plant-based skin solutions.
We are dedicated to sourcing ingredients that are fair trade, cruelty free, and organic: local whenever possible. Verdant is certified cruelty free and will be certified organic in the future. We use minimal, sustainable packaging, and products come in beautiful reusable glass jars, bottles, and tins with removable labels. Verdant products are free of parabens, petroleum, sodium lauryl sulfates, sodium laureth sulfates, and phthalates.
